Aspire Psychosocial Support Services for Vulnerable Children is a community-focused organisation serving pre-adolescent and adolescent learners in Makhanda. We provide psychosocial and educational support, life-skills development and recreational activities to young people experiencing social, emotional or educational challenges.
Our work recognises that learners need more than academic support to thrive. They also need encouragement, positive relationships, safe spaces and opportunities to develop confidence in themselves and their future.
Encouraging Young People to Aspire
The name Aspire represents our commitment to encouraging learners to set meaningful goals, remain self-driven and work towards their full potential.
We want every learner we support to recognise their worth, approach life with confidence and have the opportunity to live with dignity.
To aspire is to believe that growth is possible. Through consistent support and practical development opportunities, we help young people take positive steps towards the future they want to build.
We understand that every learner’s circumstances are different. Our approach considers the factors influencing their wellbeing and development.
We place each learner’s needs, dignity and development at the heart of our work, offering respectful and responsive safe support.
We develop practical skills that learners can use in daily life, relationships and education, helping them make informed choices.
We encourage learners to take part, express themselves confidently and contribute positively in schools and in their communities.
Our vision is to see vulnerable pre-adolescent and adolescent learners become confident, self-driven and equipped to achieve their goals and live to their full potential.
Our mission is to provide accessible psychosocial and educational support, life-skills development and recreational opportunities that strengthen the wellbeing and development of vulnerable learners in Makhanda.
Creating lasting opportunities for vulnerable learners requires the support of the wider community. Whether you are a parent, school representative, donor, volunteer or potential partner, you can help Aspire strengthen its support for young people in Makhanda.
